About Russ
Russ White is a visionary entrepreneur, technologist, and publisher whose innovative work spans the intersection of technology, media, and advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community. With over two decades of experience in digital publishing and technology development, Russ has dedicated his career to creating platforms that foster inclusivity, amplify diverse voices, and connect communities in meaningful ways. As the co-founder of several companies and the driving force behind major LGBTQ+ initiatives, Russ has made an indelible impact in both the tech and media worlds.
Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, Russ developed an early passion for technology and design. His curiosity about the digital world led him to focus on Computer Science and Graphic Design. This blend of technical and creative experience laid the foundation for his future endeavors, combining his love for design and storytelling with the power of cutting-edge technology.
Russ's career took off when he joined Apple, a company that played a pivotal role in shaping his entrepreneurial mindset. During his time at Apple, he embraced the mantra, "The Journey is the Reward," a philosophy that would guide him through numerous ventures and challenges. While at Apple, Russ honed his skills in software development, user experience design, and digital strategy, all of which would become key elements of his later work.
In 2012, after a 25 year career in Silicon Valley, Russ made a bold decision to leave Apple and move to Las Vegas. There, he sought to build a software development company that could leverage his technical expertise and passion for innovation. However, his journey took an unexpected turn when he purchased QVegas, an LGBTQ+ publication with a rich history dating back to 1978. The acquisition marked a significant shift in Russ's career, as he moved from the corporate tech world into the world of media and publishing.
Russ, along with his business partner Garrett Pattiani, revitalized QVegas and transformed it into a modern digital publication that serves as a crucial resource for the LGBTQ+ community in Las Vegas and beyond. Under their leadership, QVegas transitioned to an all-digital format, becoming the largest LGBTQ+ publication in Nevada and one of the oldest in the United States. Today, QVegas is published across multiple platforms, including Gay.Vegas, social media, downloadable PDFs, and print-on-demand services.
Never one to rest on his laurels, Russ has continued to push the boundaries of technology and innovation. In 2023, he launched The Spatial Apps, a website focused on developing applications for Apple Vision Pro and other Apple platforms. The Spatial Apps represents Russ's commitment to exploring the next frontier of spatial computing, with a focus on creating apps that enhance user experience and bring people together in new, immersive ways.
As he looks to the future, Russ remains focused on pushing boundaries and exploring new opportunities. He is currently involved in the launch of QNN, a news network focused on covering the upcoming election from an LGBTQ+ perspective. QNN represents the next step in Russ's mission to ensure that the community's issues are treated fairly and equitably, especially in the political arena.
